Why are you closing this school?
Despite our best efforts, we have not been able to meet the expectations of our students and families. Our enrollment has been dwindling, and we do not have the resources necessary to provide the services and education our students deserve.
What is the process for closing the school?
The Board voted on March 21 to close the school effective at the end of the 2019 school year. The City, which authorized the Lighthouse charter, will begin its closure protocol in the coming weeks.
What will happen to my records?
Your records will be maintained by Lighthouse South.
Will there be transportation if a student chooses to attend the South campus?
Yes, Lighthouse South already offers transportation to its campus, and roughly one-third of its student population currently is transported from the Lighthouse East community.
What are important upcoming deadlines that families need to be aware of?
The next deadline for Enroll Indy is April 30.
Where can we find other schooling options?
You can visit LighthouseEastOptions.com to find out more about your options. Enroll Indy staff will be on campus at least two days per week following spring break to assist students. There also will be a community meeting at the school on March 26, followed by two school fairs at 6 p.m. on April 11 and April 18.
